Buffer Zone Blues

HD film, 5.1ch sound | 9 min | 2018

In the 1950s, the United States created a list of over 2,000 nuclear targets in the Eastern Bloc. This film visualizes them in hypnotic fragments of satellite imagery, along with an essay on being at mercy of automated systems.

The visuals are created by Google Maps API and complex compositing in Nuke.
